Your Fitting Process

Every contact lens fitting at our practice begins with a comprehensive eye exam to determine your prescription and evaluate your overall eye health. From there, we take precise measurements and assess your tear film to select the ideal lens for your eyes.

  • Corneal curvature and diameter measurements
  • Tear film quality assessment
  • Trial lens evaluation for comfort and vision
  • Insertion and removal training for new wearers
  • Follow-up visits to ensure optimal fit
  • Annual contact lens prescription updates

Specialty & Hard-to-Fit Lenses

If you've been told you can't wear contact lenses, we encourage you to come see us. Our doctors have experience fitting patients with astigmatism, keratoconus, dry eye, and post-surgical eyes who were previously unsuccessful with traditional contacts.

Rigid gas permeable (RGP) lenses are one of our most effective options for hard-to-fit patients. These custom-designed lenses provide crisp, stable vision and excellent oxygen flow to the cornea, making them ideal for patients with irregular corneas or those who need sharper vision than soft lenses can deliver.

Frequently Asked Questions

A contact lens fitting typically takes 30 to 45 minutes in addition to your comprehensive eye exam. This includes measurements, trial lens evaluation, and insertion/removal training if needed. Follow-up visits are usually shorter, around 15 to 20 minutes.
Yes. Toric contact lenses are specifically designed to correct astigmatism. We carry toric lenses in daily, bi-weekly, and monthly replacement schedules. For higher amounts of astigmatism, specialty lenses like rigid gas permeable (RGP) lenses may provide even better vision.
You can reorder contact lenses online anytime through Marlo, our convenient online ordering platform — lenses ship directly to your door. You can also call our office at (770) 254-0200 and we'll be happy to help you place your order.
Contact lens prescriptions are valid for one year. You'll need an annual contact lens exam to renew your prescription, check the health of your cornea, and ensure your lenses are still the best option for your eyes.
